Facelift

We wish not to laden you here with too much information over the procedure and methods used; instead we wish to give you a brief overview of what a facelift entails.

A facelift combats the signs of ageing by tightening the skin on your face as well as tightening the underlying muscle structures (superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS)). The excess tissue will be removed through slight, unnoticeable incisions made either just behind the hairline or at the edge of the ear cartilage.

We would like to advise you on the possible locations of the incisions and their individual advantages together in a private consultation.

A facelift, the tightening of the upper and lower eyelids can all be carried out during the same operation, resulting in a brighter, more awake appearance.

Location

Like all of our surgical operations, facelifts will be carried out at our clinic here in Munich, on Cuvilliésstraße.

Anaesthetic

Facelifts can be done under local anaesthesia, half sleep (premedication/sedation) or under general anaesthesia.

Post Operation

Generally, facelifts are well tolerated.

After the operation you will receive cool compresses from us to aid the healing process.

Typically, swelling in the cheeks goes down within only a few days.

We recommend that you stay at home and try to relax your face muscles for at least a week following the operation.

For your convenience, we are not only contactable during our surgery hours, but are also reachable via mobile phone, 24 hours a day.

Your stitches will be removed five days after your operation, but make-up can be worn again prior to their removal.
